Natural events have been occurring in many places around the world for centuries. However, in recent years, the frequency of natural events turning into disasters has been increasing; their destructiveness and material damage have increased even more. “Modern Disaster Management” is the discipline of managing an all-out struggle that requires knowing the hazards and risks that may lead to disasters well, taking precautions against these hazards and risks, eliminating them with the most rational means and methods, or reducing the negative effects they may cause in order to prevent disasters and reduce their damage. Raising public awareness in disaster preparedness and making individuals, institutions, cities and societies ready for and resilient to disasters through training is one of the important goals of Modern Disaster Management.

In order to ensure language unity in line with the determined goals, to standardize training programs, to create a sustainable structure and accreditation in national disaster trainings and the infrastructure of disaster volunteer system studies, these training content titles and dissemination methodology were created in line with national and international references.

The DISASTER AWARENESS Training Course prepared within the framework of the “DISASTER AWARENESS TRAINING FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES” PROGRAM has been opened for the training of relevant personnel on the Distance Education Portal.
